Filter
An essential maintenance task is to check and clean or replace filters.
This will Improve the life of your air conditioning unit while delivering better energy efficiency and improve the overall quality of air in your home.
It helps keep ductwork cleaner and ensure the air passing through has less dust and allergens.
Drains
Drains need to be checked & cleaned. The cooling process draws hot, humid moisture out of the air via the evaporator coil creating condensed water. The water has to be disposed of, and that means getting it to the nearest drain.
Dust and other particles can build up to create a sludge, which may clog drains and cause the system to shutdown.
Gas pressure
Gas pressure in air conditioners is much like air pressure in a bike tyre. Optimum pressure means optimum performance. Having it set at exactly the manufacturers specification will have your system humming.
Condensor
The condenser unit is located outdoors so it can easily collect dirt, falling leaves, branches, stones and sticks. We check to keep your aircon condenser clear and properly maintained. This unit is responsible for condensing and liberating all the heat energy from the inside into the outdoors under pressure via thin tubes. We check the integrity of them to ensure they remain in good condition.
Compressor
A compressor is the engine of an air conditioning system. It’s the part that changes the refrigerant from a cool, low-pressure liquid to a hot, high-pressure gas, and then back again. They generally last 10 to 15 years but can burnout if overworked through neglect of filters fans and gas pressure.
Fan
The fan protects the compressor from overheating. Fans can malfunction by becoming unbalanced, fouling the cowlings and damaging its blades. The problem is usually loose or dirty blades. Dirt on the blades seriously degrades the fans performance and makes the whole system work harder. We make sure it is running smoothly.
Grilles
Grilles remove air from an indoor space and return it to the air con system for reconditioning. Collected dust restricts the airflow dramatically. In a normal residential house the filters and grille should be checked/cleaned every six months.
General operation
A diagnostic check of the physical condition of the whole system, a check of the software logs circuit boards and electrical components and a run though of the user controls to make sure everything is as it should be.
